Firstly I should like to thank the people of Algiers for helping me with a troublesome car. Next, oddly enough the good luck potion I procured there worked. My good will visit there also made me quite fearful of being on the wrong side of U.S. security forces. It is true, without Habeas Corpus even people of good will are in much the same danger as a walk through the deep jungle could offer. The grief and desolation were incalculable but the quiet love and friendship were heart warming too.Funny the casino had the highest table limits and an obvious no loitering policy, aimed at the poor no doubt.I ended up playing cards with two oriental females and their business manager if you take my meaning.I love New Orleans and Louisiana and hope I did some good, if only fleeting.Materialism can be such a cruel whip and taskmaster.

Would you consider allowing me to crosspost this piece on my blog? I rarely reproduce a post in its entirety, but this is an incredibly important piece, I think. What it describes is crucial for people of the U.S. to recognize and consider, as we move in the direction of having this sort of thing be the "solution" to all sorts of "problems." Living close to New Orleans, as I do, this piece is all the more poignant. But it would be disturbing to me no matter where it had occurred.

Thanks for your efforts and accomplishments.

I would like to move in solidarity with you to make a difference nationwide... as per http://oxtogrind.org/archive/364. The inhumanity vis-a-vis New Orleans and elsewhere can be addressed if almost ALL of the truly "progressive" (radical?) groups move in solidarity together... at once... following a new paradigm. Actually, I think we only need a few to set aside peripheral differences.
